Our Story
Comics Unlimited has been a beloved part of the comic book community for over 50 years — and what a journey it's been.
The story begins in Hawaiian Gardens, California in the mid-1970s, where Comics Unlimited first opened its doors. By the 1990s, the store had grown into a thriving chain of eight locations spread across California, bringing comics and collectibles to fans up and down the West Coast.
Meet Nancy
Behind Comics Unlimited is owner Nancy McCann — a lifelong comics lover whose passion for the medium started long before she ever ran a store. As a teenager growing up in Cleveland, Tennessee, Nancy traveled all over the United States and selling comics and sold new comics right from her desk at Bradley Central High School. (Go Bears! 🐻)
Nancy went on to work at Comics Unlimited for thirteen years before purchasing the store in 1996. After the passing of her mother, Nancy made the heartfelt decision to bring Comics Unlimited — and her family — back home to Cleveland, Tennessee to be closer to her father.

Today, Comics Unlimited is proud to call Cleveland, Tennessee home. We serve fans across East Tennessee, North Georgia, and Western North Carolina, and thanks to our online store, we're able to connect with comic lovers all across the country.
